Debut album released, this is our legacy.

Today we have released our first album, The Gardens of Necropolis, and as of today, we have decided to disband. The album is the result of the creative work which began after we released our demo in 2009. The album is available for free and can be downloaded from the releases section in your format of choice. We have decided to call it quits due to artistic differences. We would like to thank those who have listened to our music and have provided us with feedback.

Debut album is done

It’s April 1st, but this is no joke! Our debut album is now done and it sounds awesome! Very atmospheric and evil. The next step in the process for us will be decided during the next couple of weeks, but for now we feel like sharing this information with you all.

The album will be named “The Gardens of Necropolis”, have a running time of 46 minutes and 13 seconds, and contain the following songs:

1. Where Waters Rest
2. The Road to Nothing
3. The Gardens of Necropolis
4. When Skeletons Sing
5. Drown in the Unknown
6. Bloody Repentance
7. Towers
8. Travelling Through the Past
9. A Sepulchral Theme (re-recorded for the album)
10. A Bag of Tricks

The cover artwork will be done by none other than the artistic genius Tony Sandoval. We’re really excited about this and can’t wait to share further information with you all, so keep checking back for the latest news.

Album ready for mixing

A milestone has been reached for our upcoming debut album. All recordings are now concluded, and the raw material has been handed over to Jacob Olsen from JBOSound for mixing and mastering. Jacob has a lot of experience with the production we wish to accomplish, and we are confident that he will bring out the best in our music.

Estimated running time is about 45 minutes. The track names of the album will be as follows (in no particular order):

A Sepulchral Theme
When Skeletons Sing
Where Waters Rest
Travelling Through the Past
The Road to Nothing
Towers
Drown in the Unknown
A Bag of Tricks
Bloody Repentence
The Gardens of Necropolis

The title of the album will be “The Gardens of Necropolis”. Keep checking back here for the latest news on the album.

Gig at Mono Goes Metal 666

We will be playing at Mono Goes Metal 666 on May 14th, together with BONE, DEATH RIDES A HORSE and I´LL BE DAMNED.

The setlist at this gig will contain primarily new songs from our upcoming debut album

The event begins at 7 pm. It costs 40 DKK for a ticket.

The EP becomes an album

It’s been a while since we have done a news update and considering all the stuff we have been up to, it is about time we tell you all what is going on. Actually, things have been very interesting in the Sepulchrum camp lately. The biggest news is that we have decided to turn our planned EP into a full-blown debut album. Simply put, we have so much material that it just can’t fit on an EP, so the decision was made to go for a full-length release instead.

The album will feature a style and atmosphere which is very similar to that of our A Sepulchral Theme demo, although a lot more refined. At this point almost all songs are ready composition-wise and recording of the album will commence quite soon.

When the recording process has begun, keep an eye out for studio reports. We might even capture some video to give you some insight on how it all goes down.

Gig at Dampf Fest 2

As promised earlier, we hereby give you the full details on a gig taking place on February 5th, only about two weeks from now. We will be performing at Dampf Fest 2 together with JOHNNY NIGHTMARE, CIRCULAR CONDITION, ALL TRAYS FOR VENOM, EVION and JULIAN MARABOTO. It is a cross-genre event which should prove interesting to anyone who attends.

As a special treat we are going to perform several of our brand new songs which will be featured on our upcoming EP. If you liked our 2009 demo A Sepulchral Theme, you are going to love these new songs.

The event begins at 6 pm, and we will take the stage at around 8 pm. It costs a meager 40 DKK for a ticket, so there is absolutely no excuse for not showing up. We hope to see you all there!

Back from Danish Metal Awards

We have arrived back in Aarhus after attending Danish Metal Awards 2009 in Copenhagen. We had a great time at the show and we would like to thank everyone involved for making it possible.
Scarred By Beauty were the winner of our category, so congrats on that guys! And, of course, also a big round of applause to the winners of the other categories. You can check them all out at www.dmea.dk.

Another review of our 2009 demo A Sepulchral Theme has surfaced at Metalzone.dk. Check that out under reviews. Also, we have some interesting news coming up very soon concerning a gig, but more on that later when we get the details sorted out.

Danish Metal Awards 2009 nomination

We are proud and humbled to let you know that we have been nominated for the Metal Talent of the Year award at the Danish Metal Awards 2009. The event will take place at Amager Bio in Copenhagen on 16th January 2010 where Meshuggah and a number of Danish metal artists will perform. We hope to see you there!

Work in progress

Just a quick update to let you know what’s going on behind the curtain. As mentioned earlier, we are in the process of creating new songs for an upcoming EP. At this point we have 5 songs ready for recording and we expect to compose at least 1 more so the EP will contain 6 songs (maybe more, you never know). There’s definitely some hit potential in these songs, and we strive to take the Sepulchrum sound to even darker places than we did on the demo.

Demo reviews and concert photos

Our demo has been reviewed a couple of times now by various sites and magazines. We have collected all the reviews, translated the Danish ones and made them available on the discography page. In addition, the gallery has been updated with pictures from our first concert which took place at Mono Goes Metal 2 in the beginning of May. Last but not least, we are hard at work on our next release. Nobody knows when that will be completed, and we are not in a hurry, but things are progressing quite well and we are excited about the new material.

A Sepulchral Theme demo re-released

After much consideration we have decided to re-release our recent demo A Sepulchral Theme with much improved sound. After the initial release we discovered a fault in the mix with resulted in a 5 dB padding on all the tracks. So, we’ve spend some time rectifying this and at the same time we dealt with some general problems in the mix, the most important ones being the almost non-existent bassdrum and the much too shallow bass guitar.

Therefore, we strongly urge you to re-visit the discography section and re-download the entire demo. We promise, you won’t regret it!

Debut concert videos available

Debut concert announced

We are set to play our debut concert at the Mono Goes Metal 2 festival. The festival takes place at the Monorama venue on the 1st of May 2009.

The admission is free, so there’s no excuse not to show up, drink some beer and bang your heads to some kick ass metal. See you all there!

A Sepulchral Theme demo released

The Danish metal band Sepulchrum have released their first 3-track demo featuring the tracks Deathwise, Silent Hatred and A Sepulchral Theme. The band was formed in September of 2007 by members Martin Pedersen (lead guitar), Lasse Guldhammer (vocals, guitar) and Lars Bisballe Jensen (drums).

Until late summer 2008 the band had focused primarily on cover songs by bands such as Bloodbath, Bolt Thrower, Carcass and Satyricon. At this point the band completed their lineup with the addition of bassist Anders Jacobsen, and a goal was set to complete their first demo for release in the beginning of 2009.

Therefore, in August 2008, the band began developing their own sound and it quickly took shape as a mix of black metal and old-school death metal. This resulted in 5 new songs, where 3 were selected to be featured on the demo. The production began with recordings in November of 2008 and the final result of the latest months of hard work is now introduced to the world in the form of the 3-track demo A Sepulchral Theme.

The demo is available for free from the official band homepage (sepulchrum.net) and can also be heard via the streaming radio service Last.fm (last.fm/music/sepulchrum) or through the official MySpace page (myspace.com/sepulchrumofficial).
